Looks like there going to be killing Drive Extender on Home Server v2. Kind of sucks as I think the pooling technolgy is the way to go…. argh… What to do now……….
Got the chance to build a Windows Home Server Vale box which is up and running. Seems to be pretty decent so far although its been up only for a few days.
We shall see how it goes
So far the new build is working out ok so far. New processor and motherboard are working well so far with little issue. The ram is the new challenge though as I am trying to find a stable point to run it at. Some more playing and adjusting is in order but I hope to have it figured out soon.
Well I have been slacking on posting to my blog. No more though as I will try to post at least once a day get the ball rolling. As of late I have been really busy at work and now I am doing hardware reviews for this website www.rbmods.com.
I will try to post and let folks know what I am working on and other neat things I am doing. Hopefully I can get this thing going again!!
Brandy new case review over on LANOC. Seems like this bad boy is all that and a bag chips as well. Check it out at the jump
This is my new crack in life. Based on a awesome novel you are Geralt a mutant monster slayer out to kick as and take names…. This game pretty long and pretty amazing and on steam for 20$ which is a sweet deal. Enjoy
Gotta love it when some jackass lets a proof of concept project hit the web. Now, you too can have someone listen to your Skype calls. PCWorld has a good story on it.
Looks like IBM is bringing there Power 7 Processor to the market pretty soon according to this article over on CNET. Should be neat to see how this is going to compete with sun’s new sparc processor that should be coming down the pipe here soon as well. Although I would imagine though that things might be kind of dicey though since HP is talking about buying sun’s hardware arm.
Tom’s hardware has a great article on the latest and greatest in SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) drives and hardware. The interface tops out a 6 Gb’s per second which is freaking smoking fast! Hope to see these in the datacenter soon and it would be nice to have a pair of these bad boys from Seagate in RAID 0 for the home workstation as well!!
I am a avid gamer and enjoy all sorts of good pc games. So I will post at the end of the week what I am currently playing and what I think of it. Maybe we can get some other folks in on it and try to get some multiplayer stuff going to boot.
For the week of 24 August:
Wolfenstein: GREAT GAME!!!!!! Probably one of the more enjoyable shooters I have played in a while.
Fallout 3: Still trying to finish this one.. taking forever and a day due to the complexity
Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion: What can I say about this one. By far the most amazing RPG I have played ever.. I am hoping for a follow up here soon from Bethesda.
